Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden, born 14 August 1959 in La Jolla (California), was the third of five. She was the daughter of Beverly (Bushfield) she was a domestic worker, and her father, Thad Harold Harden an active soldier. Family members moved frequently- she first became interested with theatre when the family lived in Greece and had been to plays in Athens. Harden began college in Europe at American colleges and eventually moved to the US and completed her master's degree at University of Texas. In 1983, Harden earned her MFA at NYU. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers humorous homage of the gangster film from 1990, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden had appeared in movies since 1986 (in the less-known The Imagemaker), she was a sexy female lead in her first role in the mainstream. Harden was widely praised for her captivating performance as Verna.
